WHEELS AND WINGS IN MOTION

Flights have been booked and confirmation received re my residency placement in Oaxaca. With little over a week to go before I wing my way to Mexico I’m beginning to feel excited and realise just what a feat I’ve managed to achieve. One of my friends coined me a life shark recently, killing everything, top of the food chain. I like this analogy and feel now I am embodying it. Also I love sharks so this is fitting on many levels.

I can’t quite believe I’m going to have a whole month living in a beautiful casa in one of my favourite towns in Mexico and being able to make art everyday. It really is a dream come true and I don’t think I’ll quite be able to fathom in until I’m bouncing on my bed there.

In news with my feet back on the ground in Christchurch, I have painting and ceramic work being exhibited at First Thursdays: Abracadabra on Thursday the 4th of August from 5-9pm. The event includes music, a night market, exhibitions and magic and is based around The Colombo in Sydenham. I have painting I’ve applied to old LPs on show at Pennylane Records https://www.facebook.com/events/142140949525533/ and unseen ceramics at Dilana Rugs https://www.facebook.com/events/255855174783821/ . All works are for sale at very reasonable prices. I will already be in Mexico by this time but it’s sure to be a great event so if you can, please go along and support our local creative community.

That’s all for now but I’m sure to have more updates in the coming days, so stay tuned.
